The Birthday Girl: 17th Edition

Today I am of course wearing my Obama shirt, camo shorts, JCrew monks, and my hobo backpack. It's too hot out here and I'm not sure I will make it back home alive. I will most likely melt within the next 2 days.

For those of you who didn't read my last post, today's my birthday and I can officially report back to you all that your 16th year of life is nothing like what the movies tell you. First of all, I did not have a sweet sixteen birthday party. I did not spend the majority of my time drowning in thoughts of boys. I did not rebel against my parents in socially unacceptable ways. I actually spent the majority of my time trying not to explode from all the pressures a junior typically deals with. It was a long, hard year and my advice to others is stay true to yourself and try to enjoy your time. Take tons of pictures and do not forget about your family. Oh, also try to have any potential mental breakdown before you turn 16.
